Chris, throw me the yellow one! (Kryštofe, hoď mi žlutou!, 2018) is a Czech children’s book written by Iva Mrkvičková and published by MEANDER Publishing, based in Prague. The book tells the story of a young boy Chris who arrives to spend his summer with his grandparents in the historic town of Tábor.
When he goes to visit the LEGO museum with his grandpa, incredible things start happening as his grandfather transforms into his younger self, launching a summer full of strange adventures. The illustrations are purposefully created in soft versions of primary colours which are emblematic of lego as well as childhood in general, and combined with black and white photographs evocative of the nostalgic aspects of the grandfather’s character.
